ERA Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon Blend 2016

Inky color. Oak, smoke, leather on nose. Full body, dry, mild tannins. Black and blue fruit abound. Exceptional! — 20 days ago

Ser Lapo Riserva Chianti Classico Sangiovese Blend 2016

Ricco profumo, ha lattacha leggere quando assagio primo. Lesperto della enoteca mi consiglia decantase una ora prima. Lho dimenticato. Anche era buono abbastanza. — 2 months ago

A fabulous wine that really captures the essence of the Sandrone style during this era. Perfumed, sensual, modern and just exquisite. Sublime...😍🤪😱🤩💥 — 2 months ago

Summer ‘06 a small group went through a large case of this juice at Le Logge in Siena one long night...permanently sealed my ❤️ for Sandrone. And ‘96 an underrated vintage with (still) some bargains.

Forgeron Cellars

BlackSmith Rouge GSM Grenache Blend

Washington GSM? OK. Very solid. I’m not sure I could tell the difference between this and an entry level CDR. Very enjoyable though. Stewed cherries on the nose and palate with a med finish. Great lunch wine in this WFH era. — 20 days ago

St. Helena Cabernet Sauvignon 2002

Tannins resolved, nice fruited core and took 90 min to really blossom. Not quite up to the Rutherford bottlings of the same era but a pleasure nonetheless. Drink now — a month ago

Dry fruits, fresh and flowery ... Simple, dry and beautiful with an smooth mineral finish that was completely unexpected on a wine without a cork... Brief and maybe not complex but really enjoyable. Big big value for the price ... — 4 months ago

Clos Mimi

Westerly Vineyard Syrah 2003

Last one. End of an era. Completely opaque dark dark ruby. Tannic and oak monster upon opening. Settles down after an hour. Slammin’ good with grilled lamb and taters. Chonky. Blueberries. Rippin’ alcohol but it’s cool. Continues to get better at 2hrs. Saved half in a 375ml for tomorrow because this shit is 16% and I’m drunk as fuck. — a month ago

@Dylan Thomas such a beast of a wine. Was better on day 2. Which is insane for a 16 year old wine. No rush on drinking your last bottle, it’ll last forever.

Domaine Hubert Lignier

Grand Cru Echezeaux Pinot Noir 2009

Good, but not the Romain-era wines I've fallen in love with, nor the recent vintages that have been very convincing. To be frank, this is the first wine I've tasted from the supposedly "troubled" years at Hubert Lignier. It kind of makes me think of KP sharing his thoughts about how you can always taste a winemaker's, or in this case family's psyche in a wine. Having said that, my issue with this wine's probably most attributed to the fact that it was made of purchased grapes from a relatively weaker Grand Cru, in a warmer vintage. Earthy and dark-fruited nose, which follows through into the densely-packed palate. It's not very giving at the moment, and never really developed with air. Finishes long, soft, and lush, with some spice and cocoa notes. I wouldn't call it flabby, but it's certainly lacking an expected elegance. — 2 months ago
