Amazing and unusual Piedmontese wine. At first was exposing tobacco and paper, then with small sips left in the glass with cranberries, and the fuller glass after breathing with deeper flowers and berry notes — a month ago
Great example of what a Spanna from Alto Piemonte can be. Volcanic soil, traditional process and a great family. Red berries orange peel mint plenty of acid and low alcohol lightens the package. The bottle went empty quickly. — 2 months ago
Has a really marvelous feral element on the nose. Tar, tobacco, leather and the smells of not only herbs but dark, sweet and sour fruits; tamarind, stewed italian plums, molasses. On the palate is juicy black and red fruit, candied black raspberries. This is all carried in a very pure and precise way on the palate. — 2 years ago
Red fruit and light body with smooth tannins. Very drinkable — a month ago
Le Piane’s 2022 Nebbiolo is a rich, heady wine, but it has found a way to maintain freshness and verve. It’s a big wine for sure, yet all the elements are so well balanced. Sweet red/purplish fruit, orange peel, mint and crushed flowers linger on the deep, satisfying finish. $25.00 (Antonio Galloni, Vinous, February 2024) — 2 months ago

Nose: sweet roses and cherries. Intense and beautiful. So floral
Palate: sweet cherries. A bit right but so lovely and balanced. Juicy. Still young. Has a decade to go at least.
Needs an hour. Then magnificent. The 20% vespolina just takes this over the top.
Almost a 9.6. A perfect boca.
