Deepest red amber echoes eponymously, chaos ensuing in its lofty-top curtain drop of ocean foam encroaching and Cyprus knee lacing. Pine nettle, maple flower, bruised banana and overripe pineapple. Cinnamon toast and caramelizing Vidalia onion aromas. There is an ocean brine and orange blossom back breeze. Heavier mouthfeel accents tastes of orange-honey, marmalade, resinous malts, bay leaf, oregano and nutmeg leading to grapefruit and kumquat. Pleasantly aggressive hops applied with sage leaves in this double ipa. #sixpointbrewery #brooklynbeer #nybeer #newyorkbeer #resin #sixpointresin #resiniipa #IIPA #doubleipa #dipa #indiapaleale #beer #bier #biere #birra #cerveza #cerveja #ale #ipa — 8 days ago
Rich perfume of spices and pomegranate. Specifically pomegranate. Beautiful bee pollen and mulling spices. No harshness. The fragrance of a rich and blossoming garden of roses.
Woah. Zippity zip. We got acidity, and it’s medium to high but with the natural carbonation and juice juice juice, it just works man.
It’s got sour framboise beer qualities, but of course the tannins and the cola like quality just sings.

My friend graciously shared his 1979 Robert Mondavi Winery ‘Reserve’ Cabernet Sauvignon(WWB, 92), a wine I had not visited since I was at the winery several years back. The nose is highly Bordelaise with layers of red currents and red bell pepper with shades of dusty terroir that all mingle in the glass. The wine still has a good degree of freshness and a core of dark fruits with red bell pepper, damp earth and sandalwood tones. This now forty one year old wine has aged very gracefully. While not in its prime, it will provide drinking enjoyment over the next five to ten years — yet another resounding success from this Oakville estate. Drink 2020-2025- 92 — 4 months ago
Pineapple-grapefruit look blasts a big-bubbled white puff with even stacking. Igneous lacing formation churns into Pahoihoi. Grapefruit and pineapple match the drapes, with the pineapple turning jell-o with cream topping. Papaya and mango make the rounds, ripely. Clean palate of zesty lemon wrapped around just ripe mango, and a tangerine thing that rounds it to mango texture. Minerally pineapple suggests a weightless and steely finish, but the lime drops the dime to call it home. Good rotation back to white raspberry! #newbelgium #newbelgiumbrewing #voidooranger #ipa #indiapaleale #newbelgiumvoodoorangernineteeneightyfiveipa #voodoorangernineteeneightyfive #newbelgium1985 #1985ipa #beer #bier #biere #birra #rotatingseriesbeer — 2 months ago
This wine leapt out of the bottle at me in a way that made me think ‘crud this wine has something to say and I don’t know if I’ll like it’. Whatever it was—almost some beer notes? makes some sense being from a country with a month devoted to beer— bounded out of the bottle. On the palate a more restrained refresher. For some reason when I drink this wine I close my eyes and see sea turqoise waves made of cardboard—like the ones in old-time plays that stagehands pull back and forth to emulate ocean waves. Cool and a touch of salinity. Ooh and it just pulled out a bouquet of roses. A little old-school, a little surprising, and always the gentleman this wine is a catch. — 2 months ago
Golden with amber suggestions. Glows, but oddly opaque. Poached egg foam topper that recedes to reverse galactic pointillism. Juicy nose of ripe pink grapefruit, mango, pineapple and Meyer lemon, lime zest, and peach blossom. Soft sweet grapefruit and it’s spongy pith keep the entry light on carbonated clouds with silver mineral. Orange peels back to reveal hidden lemon, lime zest, and grapefruit juices. The whole suggest a cool minerality. Best enjoyed in sunny south Florida in some less infectious future. Solid session ipa. .

With the look of a certain sample and the smell of hemp flour popping from the off-white head, it looks like you might not get the job! On the plus side, there is a lovely candied grapefruit mixed with hemp flower, tangerine, and lemon zest aroma driving the Hebrew alphabet lacing. The pine tar entry isn’t for everyone, but I for one, appreciate flavors that resinate (sic). Pine cones and petrol, hemp seeds and lemongrass, almond extract and bay leaf. Lemon peel and grapefruit zest pull us back to fruits but a pecan bitterness and tea tree oil, make it arboreal. This is almost Arrogant Bastard’s kinder, sweeter sister in a puffy cloud. #sweetwaterbrewing #sweetwater #sweetwaterfourtwenty #gthirteenipa #fourtwentystrain #ipa #stickyipa #indiapaleale #beer #birra #bier #biere #cerveza #cerveja #sweetwaterbrew #GAbeer #georgiabeer — 2 months ago
Vanilla, caramel, and cocoa. Very smooth and easy drinking. — 4 months ago
Non vintage, but bottled on 2/26/20. Typical KBS on the pour and in the glass. Dark black and viscous. Dark chocolate, bourbon and roasted malt on the nose. Rich and flavorful in the mouth. Great texture. Dark chocolate leads, bourbon in the middle and a slightly bitter finish. 12% ABV is well hidden. KBS was once a unicorn beer (I still have several bottles of every vintage going back to 2013), but this is not that. While still a great beer, the mass production the last few years is starting to take a toll. Maybe a year in the cellar with it's older brothers will give it some balance. — 4 months ago
A big and rich lager, toasted barley beer.
This richly styled lager is perhaps far from a traditional Doppel Bock due to the use ofwine barrels during aging, Calistoga Well Water as well as our use of Glacier hops. A 5 week 55 F fermentation yielded a crisp and malty driven beer with mild hop notes. Lot 15040727 was aged in freshly emptied first use Petite Verdot French oak barrel from 2012 where it aged for another two months. The aromas are very bold and bright showcasing the impacts of the barrel while the power of this 9.1% Alc. v/v lager pushes back both with flavor and palate texture. These beers are Membership only releases. Lot 16040693 was aged in a French Oak puncheon for 3 months and has an alcohol by volume of 7.8% v/v. Our upcoming release Lot 170613150 spent 5 months in a relatively new French Oak barrel and with an alcohol of 8.6% v/v is more of an Eisbock in style, although probably our best effort to date with wonderful malt tones integrated with oak spice as well. — 5 months ago
