Cassata Vineyard Zinfandel 2015

Blackcurrants, warm plums, spicebox. Enough acidity to keep it from turning into flabby. Bold and very tasty, albeit a tad short. Nice wine! — 5 months ago

Franc Fizz Cabernet Franc Marquette

Totally agree w @Ely Cohn . 2020 is a bit less fruity than 2018, I think. Ever so slightly carbonated. Round fruit w some nice tannins at the end. Concentrated plum (preserves) w some blackberry. Reminiscent of a Lambrusco. But from Maryland? Nice effort by the Mid-Atlantic! — 13 days ago

@Severn Goodwin correct! I thought the same thing — had to try it. And damn if it wasn’t good!

Mid-Alt owns CF….no longer a Loire-thing ;) Va folks have been building pet-bat or Carbonics for years with CF. What Westminster is solving: the use of hybrids to stretch case production (and thus profitability).

@Ron from VA @Severn Goodwin yeah the dash of Marquette grape in this imho mutes some of the cab franc but adds to its fruitiness. MI also producing some nice cab franc these days too!

Prob didn’t need to have this btl at the end of the night, but it had a great, sweet richness. Lots of vanilla bean, soft chocolate finesse. What a treat - especially after having a 2017 Imposter early in the nite! Thx Jeff Cohn. — 24 days ago

Olive Hill Estate Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon 1999

Pleasantly surprised after all these years. Nice balance with some decent plum fruit upfront and a soft finish. Definitely need to drink now as I’m not sure it would last much longer — 3 months ago
