Warm, medium bodied, dry but not abrasively so. Caramel notes really shine. Perfect for a cool night — 13 days ago
I would describe this Uruguayan blend as a hybrid Napa/Bordeaux Red Blend with a touch of Rioja blended in. 45% Tannat, 25% Cabernet Franc, 18% Petite Verdot, 12% Marselan. Red and black fruit aromas with hints of violets and baking spices. Juicy red and black fruit flavors with hints of blueberries, grilled herbs, black licorice, Forrest Floor and dark chocolate. Excellent meaty texture with a long and minerally finish. Very complex with dusty tannins. Fantastic now, but this one might need some additional bottle age. — 4 days ago
Roses, tar, orange marmalade, kalamata olives. A phenomenal streak of dark stony minerals. So expressive, long and filled with just-ripe dark red fruit, very sexy. So clean, fresh, stony, with layers of tartness and ripeness. Such a deep palate. Fantastic. 9.4 but this could go up in time. — 4 days ago
A refreshing and crisp white blend. Goes well with summer! — a day ago
Nose has smoked blueberry syrup, over-ripe blackberry, wet roses, soaked raisins, finely chopped green herbs, muddy garden and incidental alcohol.
Palate has blueberry/blackberry jam, wow acidity, medium++ tannins, red velvet cake, incredible intensity on the dark fruits, notable acidity, juicy juicy blackberry, black currant; if this was ever labeled as a crunchy fruit Sagrantino, it fits the description perfectly.
Opened for slow oxidation of 6H then +3H decant, expect this to show better tomorrow or following days. Paired to local beef short ribs (Kinderhook Farm; Valatie, NY) in an Asian-style braising sauce, plated on top of Parmesan polenta, so yum.
100% Sagrantino, unmistakable. Revisit 2025-2030, wowzer. — 3 days ago
Dark ruby, almost inky in color, with a short reddish rim.
Very fruity nose of blackberries, cooked cherries, cedar, cooked plums, figs, raisins, vanilla, licorice, chocolates, cola, light earth, pencil lead and coffee.
Full-bodied and bold with medium acidity and long long legs.
Extremely fruity on the palate with blackberries, black plums, black cherries, raisins, figs, cedar, spices, licorice, peppercorn, cocoa, mocha, coffee and tobacco.
Long finish with fine grained tannins and tangy cherries.
This 7 year old red blend from Napa Valley is delicious now. Drinking very nicely right out of the bottle, and way better after 4 hours in the decanter.
Rich and extracted with a great mouthfeel. Would age nicely in the next 5 to 10 years.
I had this vintage a couple of years ago, and this time it is so much better.
Thank you Wendy for sharing this with me.
Showing great complexity, but very fruity right now, and might be too much for some.
I paired it with cheeses and crackers.
15.5% alcohol by volume.

50% Refosco 50% Schioppettino
In great shape
It needs time to open up
Yes, you can tell the warm vintage, but hasn't lost a bit of its refosco balsamic freshness.
Plus the schioppettino has added its layers
Incense is so intense that i am afraid it might put off some unexperienced drinkers.
It explodes in the mouth and stays quite long
Long persistent memories of a forest undergrowth and balsamic licorice keep staying with you for a while — 5 days ago
