Surprisingly youthful bouquet of cranberry, blackrasberry and cherry. Vibrant fruit is accented by violets, charred tobacco, and just a touch of garden youth. Rhubarb and cola show with time. Well balanced palate with moderate tannins and still impressive acidity. Clean, pretty tart red fruits and spice box notes. Lighter style for RRV. Very enjoyable. — 21 days ago
Lots of acid and honey. Screams for food (white fish or chicken with citrus). Fantastic. — 3 days ago
It tastes of delightful summer nights in Austria and Germany. Paired perfectly with grilled pork chops, garlic mashed potatoes, and stewed apples. — 23 days ago
Great bar and garden recommendation! Want to try for Thanksgiving per Bon Appetit’s suggestion. Size and bottle are fun too. — 3 hours ago
Nose has blueberry jam smeared on tanned leather, cold blackberries, dry potting soil and seasoned oak firewood.
Palate has blackberry jam, dried black currant, blackberry fruit leather (if anyone actually makes that, like I need some), well roasted pepper, moist garden soil with medium-light tannins.
A fantastic pairing to home-made meat loaf this evening, a beef/pork blend from our best upstate NY purveyors, delicious!
Last bottle of a 6-pack procured in February 2015, at $17 Médoc is always a good region to buy and hold. In proper storage this can go thru 2025+. — 8 days ago
