Showing the warmth of the vintage here in the best of ways. Slightly piney and resinous with wet wool, lanolin, restrained orchard + stone fruits with fresh, yellow flowers. On the palate, very tense with herbaceous character. Texture here is super salty but with a great depth and richness. Powerful yet tight, this drank much better when it came up closer to room temperature. A real joy to drink with thai food tonight. — 4 years ago
A bit tighter than the 15’ tasted recently. Perhaps more weight as well but still so tight— green tea, green apple, chalk, laser focused with great cut. Love it ⚡️⚡️⚡️⚡️⚡️⚡️ — 5 years ago

Fresh bright fruit, spices, earth. Very tasty +natural — 4 years ago
Quite tasty and improved over 4 days which cant be said for wines made this naturally. Carignan isnt the sexiest grape, but shows a decent amount of complexity here. Strong medicinal dark fruits fruit though not in a bretty way- earth, black pepper, baking spices, medium tannin medium acid. A well executed wine for drinking. — 4 years ago
From a parcel of Kirchspiel rich in Iron that finished off dry. Quite savory, zesty spices, warm limestone, and definitively more powerful and broad than 16 Kirschpiel GG. An extremely well made wine that demands time imo. — 5 years ago
Super tight and dense, this just started to show itself after 2+ hours. Dark berries, bramble, black tea, hoisin, iodine and rich but very suave almost silky tannin. This wine needs lots of time; I would not be interested in opening a bottle for 10, 15 years perhaps. — 4 years ago
AP 10. Recommended for those who like sucking on rocks. This one evolved a lot over four hours, in the beginning, very powerful, salty with lime, fresh picked yellow flowers with warmth from orange citrus, sherbert flavors and persimmony- mineral core. Over time, the wine grew more chiseled, developing more tension and great complexity, especially considering this wine as a extremely pure with little botrytis. Minty-thai basil freshness complemented greatly with almost red fruited sweet fruit quality + rich red minerals + spice rack. 10.5% and off dry, this is a style of auslese rarely seen today but for me plays at the highest level. This is what umami means to me. #BerndPhilippi getting it done. — 4 years ago
Bright, mildly ripe stone fruits, fresh acids and good drive but cant get over metallic/ tinny and petroleum qualities. Screwcaps just dont age with the same complexity as corks, period. Well made, tasty wine though. — 5 years ago

Boisterous, dark fruited, large scaled, definitely showing the heat of the vintage. Some brett and VA coupled with the high alcohol (just doesnt work for beaujolais imo) made for a problematic wine. On the 4th, maybe 5th day, things came together a bit but I was expecting more elegance although this producer does churn out some rustic wines. Tricky vintage I suppose. — 4 years ago
